Six micro-marketing actions you can start today

Marketing is complicated. I make it simple with marketing ideas that take you less than 60 minutes to do, and carry on working for you 24-7. Here are 5 easy marketing actions you can implement quickly.

1. No image? Use PDFs of your big idea, product or book mock-up

You’ll be tempted to use AI, but in a creative community (like authors, photographers, artists and designers on LinkedIn or other social media), AI is “sleeping with the enemy”.

So what do you do if you’re not “arty”?

Create a PowerPoint presentation of your idea (using text, smart-art, and diagrams and clipart). Save it as a PDF, then post as a document.

Authors: even if your book isn’t finished, I can turn your book cover design into an image of a real book. Don’t have a cover yet? Hey, I have a network of specialists who will help with that.

2. Build Buyer Confidence

Add authentic content to your website, by tapping into real customer opinions. Again, you don’t need Canva or PhotoShop. Use PowerPoint. Save it as a video, put it on YouTube then share it on LinkedIn.
  • Demonstrations
  • Case Studies
  • Testimonials
  • Verified product reviews

3. Convert your blogs to video content with your phone

You have a video camera in your pocket! Find a good location, and TALK to your potential customers face-to-face.

  • Educational content
  • Behind-the-scenes clips
  • Animated explainer videos

Need help? Danielle Turner (see my partners) has a great 2 hour training course on how to use your phone to shoot videos.

4. Offer a personalized customer interaction

Listening is your best sales tool. Learn more about your target audience or readers — and simultaneously connect with  prospective customers.

  • Surveys
  • Quizzes
  • Focus groups
  • Online forums
  • Social media insights
  • Real-time chat support

5. Gather email addresses to you can communicate proactively

Email is one of the best ways to drive sales.

  • Personalize subject lines
  • Make sure newsletters work on both desktops and mobile phone, and on Gmail and Outlook.
  • Don’t use lots of graphics or your newsletter will be filtered out as spam. Letters work best.
  • Finish with a strong CTA (call-to-action)
  • Try different versions and see what works
  • Send emails at the right time for your audience.

Marketing has to evolve. Stay informed, experiment, and focus on strategies that work best for your brand.
