How we work

We’re flexible, but this is our recommended process

Design is tricky. Every client is different. Over many years, I’ve evolved my friendly “prototyping” approach because clients feel comfortable with it, and it works!

The discovery phase is free.

We connect, and discuss your vision, your customers, your brand, your sales strategy. How will you drive visitors to your website, and what can we do to make sure they stay.

If you have everything already defined and written down, well done! If not, we work through it together and get your strategy right.

Once your marketing strategy is defined, and we mutually chose to work together, I create a working design prototype.

This is a fully interactive website that you can see, touch and click on. You can show it to others on your team.

Yes, I invest 20-30 hours without guaranteed payment, but I believe in you. I believe in my capability to create a website you want, and you should feel just as confident!

Once a working design is approved I give you a fixed, fully specified quote. We agree content, interactivity and timing.

You pay 50% of the quote.

You then provide me with content – photos, presentations, old brochures, lists, ideas and scribbles. I gather the content I’ve agree – I source royalty-free photos, edit, and copywrite. You can track your new website daily and watch it grow.

When we’re ready to launch, I move your site to your existing server. I help you deal with techie service providers.

Or you can chose to sign up with me to host and maintain. When I host, I do your security updates!

After the successful move, you pay the final 50% of the quote.

I train you on updating yourself, which is a good time to make any minor adjustments.

  • Some clients enjoy the control and immediacy of DIY.
  • Some love writing blogs, but stress over design and forms.
  • Some companies have an in-house PR person who needs special training
  • Some want to outsource with a fixed retainer
  • Some phone for ad hoc upgrades and additions.

Whatever suits you, I’m flexible, and always here to help. I never walk away and say “it’s your problem now”.

Launching your new website should be a fun, exciting experience, my process helps my clients feel that way about it.
